Full title: California Begins Massive Voter Roll Clean-Up – Notifies Up to 1.5 Million ‘Inactive’ Voters as Part of Judicial Watch Lawsuit Settlement

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that it has been informed that Los Angeles County has sent notices to as many as 1.5 million inactive voters on its voter rolls. This mailing is a step toward removing the names of voters who have moved, died, or are otherwise ineligible to vote. The massive mailing is the result of a settlement agreement with Judicial Watch requiring the County to remove as many as 1.5 million inactive registrations. In addition, the California secretary of state has alerted other California counties to clean up their voter registration lists to comply with the federal National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), as the secretary promised to do in that same settlement agreement.

All of this is the result of a federal lawsuit Judicial Watch filed in 2017 to force the cleanup of Los Angeles County’s voter rolls ( Judicial Watch, Inc., et al. v. Dean C. Logan, et al. (No. 2:17-cv-08948)). Judicial Watch sued on its own behalf and on behalf of Wolfgang Kupka, Rhue Guyant, Jerry Griffin, and Delores M. Mars, who are lawfully registered voters in Los Angeles County. Judicial Watch was joined in this lawsuit by Election Integrity Project California, Inc., a public interest group that has long been involved in monitoring California’s voter rolls.

Under the terms of the settlement agreement , voters who do not respond to the notices sent by the County and who do not vote in the next two federal elections must be removed from the voting rolls. Secretary Padilla also agreed to update the state’s online NVRA manual in order to make clear that ineligible names must be removed and to notify each California county that they are obliged to do this. On April 11, Secretary Padilla notified Judicial Watch that this part of the settlement agreement had been implemented.

The agreement also required the office of the secretary of state to send a written advisory to all county clerks/registrars of voters in California stating that current federal law requires the cancellation of a registrant who has failed to respond to an official notice and who then fails to vote, offers to vote, correct the registrar’s record, “or otherwise have their eligibility to vote confirmed for a period of time including the next two general federal elections.”

The updated California National Voter Registration Act Manual, March 2019, conforms to this standard. In April and May 2019, the California secretary of state provided a training presentation to all 58 counties in California regarding the proper list maintenance procedures under the NVRA.

As Judicial Watch previously noted , Los Angeles County has over 10 million residents, more than the populations of 41 of the 50 United States. California is America’s largest state, with almost 40 million residents. The County had allowed more than 20% of its registered voters to become inactive without removing them from the voter list.

Judicial Watch discovered that California had treated the removal of inactive voters as permissive, not mandatory, and had not cleaned its voter registration rolls in at least 20 years. The Supreme Court affirmed last year in an opinion affirming a historic Judicial Watch settlement with Ohio that the NVRA “makes this removal mandatory.”

“This Judicial Watch settlement will result in the immediate and ongoing clean-up of voter rolls in California and LA County,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “This victory for clean elections in California will set another national precedent for other states to take reasonable steps to ensure that dead and other ineligible voters are removed from the rolls.”

Judicial Watch is the national leader in enforcing the provisions of the NVRA. In early January, Judicial Watch announced that it signed a settlement agreement with the State of California and County of Los Angeles under which they will begin the process of removing from their voter registration rolls as many as 1.5 million inactive registered names that may be invalid. This was only the third statewide settlement achieved by private plaintiffs under the NVRA – and Judicial Watch was the plaintiff in each of those cases. The other statewide settlements were with Ohio (in 2014) and with Kentucky (2018), which agreed to a court-ordered consent decree.

And that is almost half of the amount by which Clinton exceeded Trump’s votes i.e. “popular vote

Clinton's "popular vote margin" was probably due to massive fraud in California, Illinois, Michigan, and New York. Broward County in Florida gets a place in that list too.

Much of that machinery is still in place for whoever gets the Democrat nomination in 2020. But purging the rolls will improve things.

All inactive voters will have their registrations changed to Democrat and be harvested for the next election, cleaning up Cali style.

Can’t disenfranchise all those stinky, strung-out, crazy folks, now can you?

I can support disenfranchising them in a heartbeat.

I don't care what the Leftists feelings are about that either. I have had quite enough of stupid people voting to pick my pocket.

Legal? Really?

https://needtoknow.news/2018/12/ca-democrats-passed-ballot-harvesting-law-legalizing-voter-fraud-stole-elections-republicans-allow/

Democrats in California quietly passed a law allowing ballot harvesting in 2016, which allows party workers to go door-to-door and offering to deliver mail-in ballots on behalf of the voter. California lost 7 out of 14 Republican House seats in this election cycle. Ballot harvesting is illegal in most states. In Texas, New York and Pennsylvania they arrest people for ballot harvesting. Conservative Orange County turned all blue after and unprecedented 250,000 Election Day vote-by-mail dropoff ballots were produced. Candidates who won on Election Day later lost their races to Democrats. The Democrats don’t even hide their blatant voter fraud anymore – they just pass laws to make election fixing legal and the Republican party just sits back and allows it.

re. “send this back, if you no longer live at this address”

That's about like the idiots that send emails out with the line "Let me know if you don't get this message".

Yes, it is legal. California is a fascist, one-party state controlled by the Democrats. They made it legal to “ballot harvest.” Election fraud is now codified in California state law.

These people do not have lives outside the levers of government; so they manipulate those levers to remain in power.

Tar and feathers may be necessary to effect change.

Now if they could just remove all the double and triple registered fraudulent voters from the voting lists.
Also go after all the ILLEGAL ALIENS that are registered through the DMV (on purpose).

It reminds me of a line from A. E. Housman's "Fragment of a Greek Tragedy":

"If you happen to be deaf and dumb, and do not understand a word I say, then wave your hand, to signify as much."

You have to wonder at the stupidity of someone who would allow a complete stranger to get control of their ballot.
I’m to lazy or stupid to put a stamp on this and take it to the post office or corner post box.
And I don’t think a mail in ballot even requires a stamp.

Voter fraud is a problem.

But the Democraps’ heinous vote harvesting (mfg votes) is particularly troublesome b/c it happens mostly in secret
AFTER the electon is over......and is used to flip seats already won by Republicans.

Pres Trump talking about a “rigged” election and warning about what he says will be voter fraud, there have been significant discussions about “poll watchers,” and concerns that certain individuals may try to intimidate their fellow voters. But there are rules governing polling places and poll watchers.

As it turns out, the US Constitution gives states the power to regulate the “time, place, and manner” of elections — which means, in practical terms, that most of the rules governing voting and polling places are made at the state level — and can therefore vary widely from one jurisdiction to the next.

Indeed, questions like whether you need a photo ID to vote, whether it’s legal to take a “ballot selfie,” or whether you can wear campaign paraphernalia into the voting booth don’t currently have national answers, but instead depend upon each state’s widely varying rules.

So if vote harvesters operate in places like nursing homes, hospitals, private homes, jails, and other secluded places, They operate without oversight.

Means they could be in violation of US Constitution and the power to regulate the “time, place, and manner” of elections.

Discrimnation against Republican voters also looms .....when the harvesters flip Republican seats only.

Yes, illegals can get a CDL and no, the CDL does not indicated citizenship or residence. It is also not considered valid identification by the U.S. government.

To register to vote, you check a box on the back of the licensing or identification form. That is all that is required. Your signature on the form has some type of penalty notice for lying and such. The State of CA has a budget of $0.00 which funds a staff of 0 people to check the CDL and ID forms for anything related to voting. I personally know legal and illegal Mexicans in California who get ballots and have been called to jury duty. IMO hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, of illegals and non-citizen residents intentionally vote or the machine votes for them without them knowing

If you vote in person on election day, as I do, you simply go to the assigned location, tell them your name and they check you off the list. They give you a paper ballot to complete and submit which is then scanned and recorded. If you go to the wrong place, you give them your info and they make a note before giving you a ballot. My elderly folks mail their ballot in, or drop it off at the local poll.
