VICTOR DAVIS HANSON TELLS TUCKER WHY CALIFORNIA IS ‘AMERICA’S FIRST THIRD-WORLD STATE’
Daily Caller ^ | June 17, 2019 | Scott Morefield

Posted on 06/18/2019 10:59:07 AM PDT by gattaca

Historian Victor Davis Hanson described why he feels his home state of California is America’s first “Third World state” during a Monday night appearance on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

Hanson’s comments came after the state’s Democratic governor, Gavin Newsom, said that national Republicans will go “into the waste bin of history, the way Republicans of the ’90s [in California] have gone.”

Responding to host Tucker Carlson’s question about why he considers California a “Third World state,” Hanson pointed to “symptoms” we typically “associate with failed states” such as high taxes, poor schools, a super-rich class, and a significant percentage of its people below the poverty line.

“We have the most billionaires of any state in nation and then we have the largest underclass,” he said, blaming in part the overturning of the “very popular” Proposition 187, which would have denied non-emergency healthcare to illegal immigrants.

“That was unfortunately part of a perfect storm,” said Hanson, describing the millions of people who chose to move elsewhere over the next two decades.

Hanson then described the growth of “a very small but influential and wealthy manorial class” in Silicon Valley.

“We’ve created a very a wealthy class that doesn’t mind high taxes because it has ways it can navigate around that and poor social circumstances,” he said. “And the people in between are sort of like peasants outside a medieval keep that can’t survive, and so they drift off. We are left with a sort of romanticized indigent class and the royal elite that doesn’t care about the vanishing middle class at all.” (RELATED: Tucker Asked Jorge Ramos How Many Caravan Migrants He Planned To Take In – Things Got Awkward Fast)

If we look at Gavin Newsom or Dianne Feinstein or the former Senator Boxer and Nancy Pelosi, or Mark Zuckerberg or the architects of this system, they are all multi-millionaires. In some cases they are multi-billionaires. They feel good about being virtuous in the abstract. Meanwhile, on the ground level, we’re sort of like Constantinople or Justinian in the 6th century A.D.

Hanson juxtaposed the current high-speed rail controversy in the state with the influx of diseases and “140,000 people living on the streets.”

“Sort of like Road Warrior in the pre-modern world, where we dream of a post-modern high-speed rail system that will never be built,” said Hanson.

“It is a lot like ‘Road Warrior,'” said Tucker. “Funny you said that.”

Never forget CA prop 187, when the feds working in concert with their CA state co-conspirators burned our ballots and declared our victorious free election illegal. The results of that intrusive government overreach can now be seen in every state in the country.

Third world was technically neutral.

Considering the Left wing in this country they’re more second world.

In many ways CA is lost. Only a grass roots revolution and a thorough cleansing of all the illegals there can possibly save it now.

The added problem is CA has been a mecca for left wing nut cases for decades. Those who can still afford to live there still do.

Hanson found the dead body of an Illegal alien on his farm and it had a profound impact on his perceptions.

"Gavin Newsom, said that national Republicans will go “into the waste bin of history, the way Republicans of the ’90s [in California] have gone.””

This is the mentality of liberals. It's like the kids have control of the house for the summer and it's wild parties and nobody there to clean the house. Only with no Republicans at the end of summer the house is burned down, the culprits gone and the kids are hunching their shoulders denying everything and taking no responsibility but whining they've got no where to sleep and they're hungry.

California, the adults have left the state.

The ultra rich need illegals to do their lawns and such. I once golfed at a well known course on the ocean south of Newport Beach. As I stepped up to a downhill par 3 I could count 12 Mexicans move off the green for a respite from HAND REMOVING LEAVES AND TWIGS.

“Hanson then described the growth of “a very small but influential and wealthy manorial class” in Silicon Valley.”

Many of those being legal imports from the 3rd world, bringing their cultural habits of society split between the wealthy and the peasants.

A large, prosperous Middle Class is a uniquely American ideal. And when you flood America with a tsunami of 3rd world immigrants it disappears along with the rest of American culture.

“Never forget CA prop 187, when the feds working in concert with their CA state co-conspirators burned our ballots and declared our victorious free election illegal.”

And three of those conspiring against Prop 187 and the voters of California were Jack Kemp, Bill Bennett, and a governor of Texas named GW Bush.

You see that everywhere in daily life in CA. Almost 100% of the construction crews on every residential and commercial project are Mexican as are 100% of the agricultural workers. Most of the people in landscaping, yard maintenance, road maintenance, child care, and senior care are Mexican.

Probably 2/3 of the homes in our little well-to-do town are now sold to Chinese and most of the other 1/3 to Indians. So we have two vastly different immigrant classes - the underclass from Mexico and Central American and the professional class from China, Indian and (to a lesser extent) Russian, Ukraine, Poland, France, England, Germany and Sweden.

Don't forget governor Gray Davis. A leftist judge declared the law, which had passed by a landslide, to be "unconstitutional". Davis refused to appeal the decision, thereby over-ruling the votes of the people.

And people wonder why the republican party is dead in CA.

“If we look at Gavin Newsom or Dianne Feinstein or the former Senator Boxer and Nancy Pelosi, or Mark Zuckerberg or the architects of this system...”

I would have to say that those named were very successful in turning the metropolitan areas of one of the most prosperous and beautiful states into “Progressive Third World Sh!tholes” with ever expanding evil Progressive influence in their client states of Oregon and Washington.

Gray Davis was a liberal Democrat so he naturally wasn’t going to appeal Judge Mariana Pfaelzer’s decision to kill Prop 187.

But ANY California Governor can still appeal her decision.

Meaning that Gray Davis’ successor Arnold Schwarzenegger could have appealed her decision, and didn’t.

Arnold didn’t appeal because he was a sock puppet for the national GOP Establishment, the Bushies who wanted Prop 187 killed the same as the Democrats did.

Conservative activists who recalled Gray Davis were hoping to replace him with Tom McClintock, who would have appealed the 187 decision.

The national GOP and some local GOP hacks calling themselves “The New Majority” wanted no part of a conservative they couldn’t control. So they put their money and effort behind Arnold, who won and was worthless.

Establishment mouthpiece Hugh Hewitt was one of the shills pushing Arnold and badmouthing McClintock. Reliably clueless Sean Hannity was praising Hugh Hewitt just today, proving that having a microphone doesn’t equate to having good judgment.

Each election I never forget Proposition 187. One of the heavy contributors to the anti-Prop 187 campaign, which later influenced the decision by Davis not to defend the measure in court, was the California Teachers Association. I believe it spent in the neighborhood of $17 million on the campaign. I have never voted for an education ballot measure or a CTA-approved candidate since. And hubby and I can’t wait to retire and blow the state.
