It’s an illegal effort to avoid the proper manner of amending the constitution
The constitution leaves it up to the states’ legislatures to send whatever electors they want to the convention. They don’t even have to go by who won the state vote if they don’t want to.
I know this is a trick by the democrats to get more electors, but it’s not illegal.
