Former Connecticut state senator and conservative tax champion Tom Scott is married to a Middle Eastern Christian whose maiden name was Saad, which she was still using professionally as a pollster for Gallup. While Saad is a common name, and they may not be relatives by marriage, I cannot imagine this not getting his Irish up.

Tom Scott should’ve been governor in 1994. I spent most of my days off campaigning for him. The Courant had a picture of me celebrating when we heard Republicans won the house.
