President Trumps pick to be the nations first-ever border czar is a longtime former cop and immigration official who takes a hard line on illegal crossings.
Former acting ICE Director Thomas Homan told Secrets early in the Trump administration, for example, that he views every unauthorized border crossing as a crime that can and should be punished.
"If you are in this country illegally, and you committed a crime by entering this country, you should be uncomfortable, you should look over your shoulder, and you need to be worried," Homan told Secrets.
"No population is off the table," he told a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing in 2017. "We'll issue detainers to anybody in the country illegally," he said. "Our priorities are criminals first, but if you're asking me if we are going to put detainers on people that have not been convicted of a crime, yes we will," he added referring to the first step in deportation.
All we have heard from a succession of immigration officials even going back to the Obama administration is that the border crisis cannot be solved until Congress acts. Tom Homan is a man of action, so I expect that mind-set and that narrative to change, added Jessica M. Vaughan, director of policy studies for the Center for Immigration Studies.
I think that Ken Cuccinelli and Tom Homan will work well together, because Cuccinelli also wants to hit the ground running and has ideas for how to tackle the border crisis. They are both rule-of-law kind of guys. One thing that Cuccinelli brings to the operation is his understanding of how states can be full and constructive partners in immigration enforcement, she told Secret.

>>>YES! Homan is the man to clean up the border problems. Give him the legal and manpower assets he needs, and let him loose.
As a czar, he won’t have either of those. That authority sits in DHS, which currently has no Secretary.
It’s about time Trump got tough on immigration. I realize Congress has been a huge obstacle as far as legislation, but Trump still has several options to get around that. Appointing a law and order type to this position is the right thing to do, as was pressuring Mexico. Now if he would just get serious about e-verify...

I love it, but let’s hope it’s not more of the same BS, meaning “all talk no action”. The time for action is NOW!
Just my 2cents....
The liberal states are trying to circumvent the Electoral College with their Popular Vote thing, right? Even though it can’t be done, something can be learned from their insanity.
Gov DeSantis just signed a into law, a bill that bans Sanctuary Cities and requires law enforcement to work with ICE. A commenter, on another thread stated, that the ICE can ask that individuals be detained while they get the deportation paperwork in order, even if the person hasn’t committed a crime.
The ACLU has actually put out a warning for illegals to be wary of the new bill and it’s requirements...
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/congress/aclu-warns-immigrants-and-people-of-color-against-travel-in-florida .... The Florida Legislature has advanced legislation that would require local law enforcement to work with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in detaining undocumented immigrants.
Unfortunately, once folks start getting shown the door, they will start leaving Florida. Some might go home, most will just move out and head north and that will bring them to Georgia and Alabama, sadly.
However, what happens if, like the Blue States wanting the Popular Vote thing: Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas, all the Midwestern states-north to Canada, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana...all adopted Florida’s law? Basically, giving them no place to run, unless they get on a plane and fly to the Northeast or West Coast. Unlike trying to circumvent the EC and the Constitution, this is just states saying enough is enough and they’re not playing this game anymore.
There’d be absolutely nothing that the Dem’s could do. Nothing. They couldn’t withhold money as the courts have already said that the Feds can’t withhold money from the Sanctuary cities and states. Use their own rules against them. Toss in a few workplace raids and I think there’d be a steady flow heading South.
Again, just my 2cents...
The IRS already knows a bunch of illegals that are using someone else's SSN or a fake one, or even a TIN, don't kid yourself even if he gets tough his employees won't.
We have Cities even whole states that are on rebellion that could be charged and jailed today under current law, why is that not happening? Why is FBI director stonewalling Congress unchastened? Why is Military still holding on to Trannies and Gay Pride celebrations? If only we could figure that out. </s>
Not many Freepers recognize that, stand by to be flamed. Not one mayor or police chief has been indicted for violation of immigration statutes. In fact De Blasio announce this week that illegals can get driving license and free health care, so much for Real ID that is supposed to become law soon, maybe or whenever.
I have been saying for 20 years or more that we are being invaded by the womb and our culture won't survive it.
...we are being invaded by the womb...
Spot on. Now add in lots more muzzies.
My kids think no big whoop when I tell them theyll be a minority in a couple decades. They probably fully believe diversity is strength and that those immigrants are really no different than them. When I tell them they better at least learn Spanish, I get the look.
Some hard lessons on they way for them, I fear.
Yep and some of the old timers too will rue the day they embraced the Multi Ethnic Multi Cultural society.
In the construction industry 80% of milwrights and electricians are now long term illegals. Wages have halved.
So handy for them, great american wages with none of the responsibilities citizens have.
Winning! Bravo, President Trump!!!
The fact that he is not bashful about saying it in these words in a public way is very encouraging to me. The fact that people are coming over the border is one thing, an illegality in itself that should be dealt with.
Just as irritating is their giant flipping of the bird to Americans, saying we can't do anything about it, basically using our humane treatment and leniency against us as they grinningly tell us to pound sand...in our own country. That is what really bothers me.
So, yeah. I like hearing the guy say this...unequivocally, and in no uncertain terms.
Absolutely. See my post above. That they break the law to enter the country is one thing. That they use our lenient laws against us arrogantly and gleefully is galling.
