We have younger relatives of both sexes (yeah only 2), who are middle management and above in industries where use of any illegal drug is banned for safety reasons.
Random drug tests are used, and termination occurs with a confirming drug tests shows recent use.
They saw this bs coming and now this endangers the random testing policies.

Will they / can they relocate their enterprise?
It's easy to see why manufactures prefer countries like Singapore or Thailand, where drug use can come with draconian consequences.

Random drug tests, not always random.
For unknown reasons, my name often was chosen.
I could ALWAYS pass the test, no need to lose any good young workers.
My boss had been there about forever and knew a million workarounds.
Once he sent one of my team, everyone thought he was a safe bet. He never returned. And he was a very good worker too.

Actually, the state doesn't have to force this; if the state already legalized MJ, then it doesn't fall under "use of any illegal drug". A drug test showing marijuana use won't matter, because it's no longer an illegal drug, and doesn't fall under any kind of illegal-drug-use policies.
