TRUE. = When I was a “wet behind the ears” kid (when dinosaurs roamed Planet Earth), WASKOM was WELL-KNOWN as a SPEED TRAP, for certain.

I wouldn’t argue that it’s NOT a “Good place to live” (as my LITTLE hometown of Pittsburg is) but it’s NOT a place to just “pass through, as an outsider” unless things have changed a lot.

Well for one Waskom is not a speed trap but they will give you a speeding ticket if you exceed the speed limit, as a reminder a speed trap is when the police is setting down the road where the speed limit drops and you don’t have enough time to slow down. The speed limit on I-20 is a straight 75MPH. As far as Waskom is concern they have a very good school, nice mix of churches and very good city services for a town of its size.
