If I was on the jury I would say innocent.
Why do I feel like pointing and laughing?
Stolen? Ha. Inside job, no doubt.
inventory and auditing control measures
I asked him if I could have them, and he said, “Hell, no, man. We got to *inventory* that stuff!”
“...thousands of guns and firearms parts that had been seized by law enforcement and were supposed to be destroyed but were stolen first..”
Well good news for a change.
Just tell them they were already turned into the ATF...
The ATF had a tragic boating accident.
And forgive me if I’m happy that thousands of perfectly innocent firearms were not needlessly destroyed. Hopefully these undocumented refugees from Democrat oppression will find their way to loving homes.
You know who did it? Bent Coppers! (If you watch Line of Duty, you’ll know.)
WAY TO GO!
BINGO! I doubt they could let those go.
I hope they are starting with all their own houses first.
I think the perp was the facility manager. The facility's job was to shread the firearms. What a perfect place to make off with some guns. Go look through the pile of shredded steel and plastic and prove that it's one or two guns light.
From the article:
Yates admitted to stealing at least 3,000 slides, a key part of a gun allowing it to fire, from Glock semiautomatic handguns.
What a great scheme. Take the slides (presumably with barrel and recoil spring, striker, and extractor) and shred the serialized frame.
Then sell the slide and barrel on Gun Broker to people building their own Glocks from unfinished 80% lowers.
Look in the houses of the AFT Agents. they will be found there.
Why would they not keep them for LE use? What a waste!
From the article:
The agents are searching for some of their own retired service weapons as well as guns from other federal law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and DEA. All of the weapons had been sent to the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' National Firearms and Ammunition Destruction Branch in Martinsburg, West Virginia, to be shredded, according to court documents and congressional letters.
A longtime guard at the ATF facility has admitted to carting off thousands of firearms, gun parts and ammunition and selling them over several years.
How do they know? Via cookies stored on your computer. Delete all cookies from J-S and I bet you'll have access again.
But, WHY shred them? That doesn’t make sense.
Sold off is my bet. Some of the agents could have sold them to their friends at the Mosque or MS-13.
After all, the rank and file need to get a piece of the action. Otherwise, they’ll rat out the higher ups and their Bitcoin accounts.
He was found guilty and is being sentenced in August. 10 years max for each count.
