So, - Everyone that is a legal citizen of the United States, is valued far less than the illegal invaders. Why then does the working American pay taxes and support a Military that’s more concerned with Public Relations and such , rather than defending the Country they took an oath to defend.
This is the modern American weakness and in the end this notion of not using deadly force (to defend our borders) will result in the loss of the United States (as we know it). What if Pearl Harbor was treated like this?
If they are illegally invading our United States...… then we have to make a choice...………… either we fight all out to win, or we can just continue to surrender the United States to whom-ever cares to illegally invade it and take it away.
Back around ‘84 I had a Macro Economics professor that defected years earlier over the “Wall” (Berlin). He stood up right in front of the class and said;

Unarmed people, many who are women and children, it's also a no brainer. Our troops would never open fire on them like they did the Japanese Imperial force.
There are somewhere between 3,300 and 5,000+ illegal aliens crossing our border any given day. It would take a day or two for word to reach every invader in route.
Imagine 6,000 - 10,000 civilians killed by our military on the border. Think we have a problem regarding slavery from our country's early history? Our country would be the pariah of the world for generations to come.
Trump would not only be impeached, the Senate would convict him, he would be removed from office and whatever is left of his MAGA work would be effectively done. To begin to make "amends" the radical dems would push for immediate citizenship for the 20-30 million illegals already here and because of what happened under Trumps command, probably 90%+ of them would vote (D). There probably wouldn't be another (R) elected to POTUS for generations...and forget about Congress or the Supreme Court.
People need to think that one through. It's just not an option against the unarmed invaders.
The #1 cause of this problem is Congress. Unless a terrorist attack occurs, that came through the southern border, it's going to have to be Congress that's the primary fixer. Trump really has his hands tied on this one. Until enough citizens who care about this country, and care about what's happening, get out and vote for reps who are far more patriotic and think more like Trump does, it's going to continue.
Regarding your Economics proff...he was right. A lot of the laziness, ignorance and outright unconcerned attitudes by many has to do with decadence. Relatively and generally speaking, we are a very wealthy country with amazing options available to us 24/7 to make our lives very comfortable, to say the least.
