I imagine by visiting CA, Trump could raise many millions in campaign cash.
Perhaps even more importantly, it would give the long-suffering conservatives in CA a morale boost, and maybe, just maybe, shake the CA Dems a bit. The hated Donald Trump invading their space to strike a blow for freedom.
In a way, I compare it to the "Thirty Seconds over Tokyo" attack in 1942. Doolittle's Raiders didn't cause widespread devastation, but it shook the Japanese confidence greatly. Previously, they believed they were invincible, yet the Americans hit their capital city in a surprise bombing. From that moment onward, they knew they were in a war they might lose, no matter what their leaders were telling them.

The Democrats took 7 House seats in California - all of which could be recovered in 2020 with an emboldened instead of demoralized CA GOP. Trump could then have 7 more solid supporters in the House, of the 19 he needs to flip the House back. Most of these are in Southern CA, so repeated short visits could make a huge impact.
