Yesterday, I received a request for a donation from the “Senate Conservatives” for an Arnold Mooney, whom they are supporting to run against Jones. Evidently this group is one run by Jim DeMint. Is there any G2 on him?
Mooney’s a state rep from up around Birmingham. I’ve not heard much about him. He’s not my rep. I’m by Montgomery.

Cong. Bradley Byrne (who’s run for governor before, losing, but known state wide) and former Auburn University football coach Tommy Tuberville are already running in the GOP primary. Both are very well known in the state, so Mooney will have an uphill battle, much as Mo Brooks did two years ago.
