Something Totalitarian Comes This Way
American Spectator ^ | June 7, 2019 | Daniel J. Flynn

At the urging of other journalists, YouTube demonetized and deplatformed various voices this week. Steven Crowder, an actor, comedian, and activist with nearly four million subscribers on his YouTube channel, remains on the site but stripped of the ability to support his show with advertisers.

George Orwell got it right. There would be electronic means of thought control, forcing people to conform in thought, word and deed. Twatter, farcebook and goofgle are ready for the election. They will do their job as willing assistants to the democrat party, and suppress correct thought, and promote insanity.

Enter Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO), a rising star of the Republican Party:

https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/05/josh-hawley-attacks-silicon-valley-elites/

The article’s title, however, is bogus. Big Tech is NOT an aristocracy, but a plutocracy with VERY un-aristocratic values!!!

It’s going to take a lot of doing to figure out what to do about them, however, without empowering the Elizabeth Warrens of the world!!!!

The solution is staring us in the face.

Of course, by “us” I mean rich conservatives, of which I am, unfortunately, not one.

If I were one, I would associate with others and BUILD OUR OWN PLATFORMS!

Too difficult a concept for “us” to master?

I really don’t get it.

I have a fear. I fear that our nation is on the very edge of civil war. People who love this country, Constitution and Annerican values and thoughts who don’t and want destruction of the USA. At this point people everyone needs to take a step back and take a deep breath . To decide how we really want to proceed.

Further reinforcing my point that this is all about the Benjamins.

I’ve been wondering why no Conservatives have jumped on this obvious opportunity.

If done right, it would make more money than youtube and facebook combined because it would guarantee FREE SPEECH.

What am I missing here (besides the obvious fact that I don’t have the money to start this myself)?

It's all about shutting down voices with wrong opinions, and their methodology is to deprive them of the money that their political enemies still earn, and which they would earn too in a fair and balanced system.

Cutting the financial throat of your enemies is what *WE* should be doing.

And why did they strip Steve Crowder? Because he made fun of that f@ggot who demanded Google-Nazi shut down his voice.

Cutting off his ability to earn money in a free market is probably seen by the Google-Nazis as a "compromise."

With the right lawyer, maybe Crowder could end up owning a big chunk of YT.

There is no “alternative” to youtube. Youtube has like 95% of the market. Wake me up when some other entity gets 20%.

“BUILD OUR OWN PLATFORMS!”

There’s an excellent letter in the current June 2019 edition of Chronicles magazine suggesting this also.

I've got no problem with this. Go get 'em.

Just don't try to get the federal government to do the hard work for you.

No. Absolutely get the Federal government to cut their throats. No other entity has sufficient power to do it other than the Feds.

And what's more, it is a necessity that they do this to protect the functionality of our system of governance. We let them drift us into Nazism, and it will be too late to do anything about it short of bloodshed, and maybe not even then.

I think you're behind the times on this thing. I'm seeing headlines that a *LOT* of people, both left and right are starting to want a hammer dropped on these arrogant @$$holes running the big tech companies.
