Same here. I sell my extra eggs at work for $2 a dozen. It pays for the feed.

We did make one mistake. Our dogs and chickens comingle in our yard. They have all gotten along find. Well, we offed our last rooster and, about a month later, our Golden retriever got a taste for raw chicken. We only lost three - and the dog, of course.

We may give up chickens for a while, but if we decide to keep them, we’ll want to add a rooster, partly to fertilize the eggs.

Yeah I have a rooster too just so I can get new baby chicks every 21 days
I started with a dozen and within a few months I had 45

I had so many eggs I didn’t know what to do with them all.

And you actually feel healthier eating them. It makes me wonder what on earth is in store-bought eggs.
