That long period of inaction is tragic, but not necessarily indicative of things to come.
I believe the official end of the Mueller witch hunt is an important benchmark:
As long as there was a possibility of it dragging on indefinitely, team Trump was in a bind - even the slightest push-back would be viewed as obstruction, and likely add months to the witch hunt.
I think this dynamic was the most significant reason for DOJ inaction over the last 2.5 years - both lack of action against Spygate, and lack of action in Trumps defense - far more significant than who was AG.
Muellers formal resignation will at least put the theory to the test.
That’s all I have ever asked for is a test, but one with some kind of fixed dates, i.e., if by x we haven’t seen y, then there is no “secret sting.”
