HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) - Authorities say a suspect was shot and killed after multiple attempted carjackings at a Sun City Center Publix parking lot.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported carjacking at the Publix located at 4854 Sun City Boulevard and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The man was taken to South Bay Hospital and pronounced dead.
Investigators suspect the man had tried to carjack four vehicles before entering a business with a handgun.
A manager of one of the businesses was confronted by the suspect when he went outside to check his vehicle and allegedly shot the man in self-defense.
Detectives say the suspect had an extensive criminal history involving narcotics.
No charges have been filed at this time.

It’s not carjacking if there are no passengers. It’s car theft. The perp was trying to steal a car, and tried at least four whose doors were locked. Then he went into a local business flashing his gun.

Baaah, dead people do it all the time.

It looks like “carjacking” is correct. Watching the video, it sounds like he confronted four different people and for some reason, didn’t succeed.
Then he made a bad decision. (cough)
