It seemed Theresa May was quite smitten by the end of this press conference.
Trump closed it down in such a perfectly gentle way.

I actually winced when he said she was probably a better negotiator than he, as nobody believes he thinks that, and again when he talked about her deal being all teed up, as if he was endorsing that. Unfortunately he is too often swayed by whomever he has met with last, and in that case it was the PM of the UK who was clearly coached to be strategic in how she flattered him—such as congratulating him on his quick action in respond to what actually were a couple of false flags—the supposed Ruskie poisoning in the UK and the supposed gassings in Syria.
Cute quip to Jeremy about Michael. And Trump should bounce back soon enough. Better to be gracious to Theresa than not, of course.

I have watched those last 2+ minutes over ten times.
It's fabulous. I have never seen the President that smooth, intelligent, and gently wise.
It was beautiful!

Sounding like he’s kissing up to Theresa’s Non-Brexit Brexit.

Not everyone though. This past weekend my wife and I were at a nice southern coastal resort. We were seated at the lobby bar with another couple across from us when we were both joined by a pompous couple who could not wait to announce they were from DC. In fact, they have lived their whole miserable lives in NW DC. They began a conversation with the other couple quick to announce one of them had a law practice. The other couple mentioned to them they had a commercial building company in the Atlanta area. His wife said gee, DC! we waited a long time to go there and actually attended the inauguration. The lady from DC stumbled over her words akking “you mean the recent one”. She said yes, it was enjoyable. The DC couple abruptly announced they had to join some wedding group and could not leave quickly enough. The DC deep state IMO is due for a trump style urban renewal. They are nothing but a bunch of pompous inbred insiders who cannot tolerate anyone from the hinterlands.

Will someone explain to me why Jeremy Corbyn becomes the next prime minister just because Theresa May is resigning? Wouldn’t someone else from her party just take her place? I’m confused.

That one was so unconvincing as to be cringe-worthy.
And again I said good that he was generally gracious.
Unfortunately our POTUS for all his great good that he’s doing seems to sometimes have only two speeds: insult and over-heaping praise.

The British tend to think of Americans as dolts, so Donald Trump’s brilliance and humor at his press conference will likely lift the stature of Americans in the eyes of the British.
