“Barack Obama was born a dual national, with dual citizenship with rights of nationality in two countries. As such, he may well have been disqualified as a natural born citizen and ineligible for the Office of the President of the United States, per Article Two of the United States Constitution.“

Dual citizenship is exactly what the natural born clause was meant to stop. The clause is one of the greatest protections the founders left us with, we would do well to keep it.

Really, then why were half the people on this forum supporting a man with dual citizenship from Canada that was not revoked until 2015?

All the sudden the same folks that feign outrage over ‘44’s ineligibility have ZERO problem with a candidate born and raised his first 10 years in a foreign country. And he was born to a Cuban national that admittedly took Canadian citizenship and an ex-pat American mother that also had Canadian citizenship....

Who cares if Obum was born in Mombassa or Timbuctoo, Cruz WAS born OUT of the USA. Who cares if McCain was born outside the USA to a father in service to our country... why did the Senate pass a resolution to deem McCain eligible if it doesn’t make a damn bit of difference where potus was born?

The illogic and duplicity of conservatives regarding natural born citizens is pathetic.

If one assumes that Miss Stanley Annie was his mother (many do not) then what difference would it make where he was born or who was his father given that Cruz was not born in America to Americans?

No one cared that Ted was born off US soil in Canada.
No one cared that Ted’s father was a Canadian- expat Cuban.
No one cared that Ted’s mother was a Canadian- expat American.

In order to appear on a presidential ballot, the individual states should require verification of eligibility- An American BC.
