But seriously, how do they know? Do they just write it in as add-on contract condition? Wouldn’t that be illegal?

Or, as I initially suggested, do they tap into and review their customers’ business records? That would be like the love-child of Google and the IRS.

Have an intern go through the web sites of each customer and note which ones sell guns.

If you as a company think your sales force records are private you are sadly mistaken. It’s a stupid tool too. Easy to manipulate as a sales guy. Pipelines mean crap. Gigo
