It appears someone in the White House suggested the Navy minimize the visibility of the USS John McCain.
Who, we still don't know.
Was it a formal request? Was it a suggestion?
For what it's worth the two reporters of this article are women.
I was reading the twitter feed on this issue and for some reason women were driving this story.
The whole affair stinks of pettiness.
Rebecca Ballhaus of the WSJ is known to have an anti-Trump posture.
She outright lied in her first article on this subject, claiming it came directly from the president.
She should be fired.
Why believe a single word written by CNN? Once again with the unnamed sources.
And if true, what is the problem with keeping the name associated with a juvenile back-stabbing inept, RINO, POS loser hidden from view.
McButtface was as fugly on the inside as he was on the outside.
May his remains combine with like remains - in a septic tank.
The boat is named after Admiral McCain, not Senator McQueeg
Who cares....Senator, John McCain was just simply another Benedict Arnold...first a hero, then a traitor to his party, his President, the American people and the American nation. Right this moment he is dancing with SATAN, The Devil and other America haters/destroyers in a burning Hell where he belongs!!! Case closed!!!
Fake news.
People should care why exactly? Songbird was a quisling, a turncoat and a rogue.
The outrage is just more political anti-Trump theater. Wake me up when they actually have real news.
She must have a large female following.
As I said, women are pushing this story.
So the Navy has now put out 180 degree opposite statements on this.
I dont know how you have a warship named for the family of someone the CIC is not a fan of.
That puppy is destined to sink IMO. Based on arrogance and shortsightedness - kinda like the Titanic.
I wouldn't be surprised if the McCain's visibility is minimized by going down - glug, glug, glug...
Fake news written all over it.
“”Who, we still don’t know.””
How about WHY? I guess we’re supposed to read between the lines and figure out that the ship was docked in Japan for repairs and not at sea? That certainly was never made clear when it was reported on the news. Had to wonder myself how it could be an issue if it was at sea!! Or EVEN BETTER - WHY did it even matter in ANY CASE?
The boat was rededicated in 2018 to include Sen. Seditious as a namesake.
If the request was made I think it was bad judgement, but I can certainly understand the motive. The media would get the right angle, use a huge telephoto, and make sure it looked like Trump was right by the ship. Then a story would be fabricated about him dissing McCain.
Officially, it is currently named after all 3 naval McCains, grandfather, father, and son. Initially it was named for the two admirals only (grandfather & father).
Given McCain’s involvement in Spygate, his family and their allies are NUTS to carp about this...
