This will be a weekly post.
Count remains at 112 judges confirmed.
69 District Court judges
41 Circuit Court judges
2 Supreme Court justices
So ridiculous to have a week off for Memorial Day. They work in June just in time for another week off for 4th of July and then 3 weeks later the entire month of August and first week of September off. Frustrating.
Thanks for posting this. There is otherwise a veritable news blackout on the progress of juducial nominees. Many have been hanging for 2 years +. Their 2018 nominations expired and had to be renominated in the new Congress in 2019, only to wait even longer.
This refusal to move them along is brutal not only to the nominees who have to put their lives on hold, but also the judge-starved courts which have crushing backlogs.
Mitch passed the “nuclear option” and still will not pull the trigger. It seems he is only interested in Circuit Court nominees. There are over 50 District court nominations which just sit with no action. Judiciary Committee already passed most to the full Senate for action.
I have tried all the search engines and cannot find any relevant news, or any reasons why the delay except for the long vacations and recesses the Senate takes.

Did Graham replacing Grassley have any significance in approval of Judges or was it the GOP rise to 53 or something else?
Does a Trump reelection need an increase to 54 or 55 GOP in the Senate for realignment of courts?
I think Graham and Grassley are pretty even. I think losing Flake and Hatch and adding Hawley and Blackburn has improved the committee.
Most only get a day off for Memorial Day. Senators get a whole week off.
Can you think of a reason why that is true?

Yes. Next week should see a goodly number of District & Claims court confirmations, with many Federalist Society Members. It is a shame that the Senate has a 3 day work week this week after 2 weeks off.
There were also 3 Judicial nominations May 29th and 12 on the 21st insuring a continuing pool of nominees for confirmation.
