Higher interest? Better good? They don't realize what they're doing???? Are you kidding me? These "people" are in some of the highest and most trusted positions in government and are supposed to have the intelligence and integrity to do their jobs for the country. They violated that trust and I don't care why. There are no excuses for what they did.
This is a very disturbing, if not appalling, comment by Mr. Barr. Makes you wonder about his dedication to getting to the bottom of the biggest scandal in American history.
That was my first thought.
Is he signaling someone? If so who?
Is he telling conspirators they have nothing to worry about? Is he saying this so they let their guard down?
His comments don't bode well for pursuing an investigation.
Barr, with his calm serious demeanor, would probably say the same thing about the Rosenbergs if he were in an interview with the media. But it would not likely change the outcome for the Rosenbergs.

I immediately noticed that comment too. Barr’s got a firestorm on his hands when he gets back to DC after that. This is all beltway kabuki. Most likely he wants some Trump supporters mad at him a public way to show he is being “fair and balanced.”
He is a master of restraint and understatement.

Depressing. This is all going to come to nothing other than the typical we have to put procedures in place to ensure this never happens again.
I guess to barr as long as dems had good intentions
Agreed these people are paid to know exactly what they are doing!
Sadly government services in counties around the world promote people who are prepared to go along to get along which tends to mean the brightest and most committed to ethics get left behind and are seen as trouble makers.
