An Uber driver in Los Angeles who said he was Palestinian kicked two Jewish women out of his car after learning they were coming from an Israel Independence Day celebration.
The incident occurred on May 19, the Los Angeles Jewish Journal reported.
The driver, named Mustafa, asked the women where they were coming from after they sat in the back seat. The women were reluctant to say, but then told the driver after he did not start the car.
Mustafa then ordered the passengers out of his vehicle.
He started laughing and he looked us dead in the eye and he said, You need to get out of my car. Im Palestinian,' one of the women, identified as Dayna, told the Jewish Journal. She said the driver clearly wanted to make a statement.
Dayna said she uses Uber daily and it was the first time she has ever been asked to leave a car.
The second woman, using the pseudonym Rachel, told the newspaper that I could see his eyes in the wing mirror and he just spun around his eyes were wild raged and thats what frightened me.
Dayna emailed Uber immediately and received an automatic reply.
Sorry you had that experience, it said. You wont be charged for the ride.

So does the Moho lose his Uber gig or does he get an award from the company?
wont use Uber because if anything goes wrong Uber hides behind the driver being a subcontractor. taxy driver has a lot to lose if they misbehave. a taxi driver has usually is working for a company or in smaller towns has a contract with the city. Uber drivers apply on line get there vehicles inspected once and then might not interact with uber in anyway but getting a text and excepting a job...there is no company watching how there employee behaves.
Or “You need to get out of our country. We’re America.”
Sorry you had that experience, it said. You wont be charged for the ride.
What ride? Real big of you Uber for not charging them for a non-existent service! What you should be doing is preparing for the discrimination lawsuit that you deserve . . and a Civil Rights inquiry from the Justice Department would be appropriate to send a message.
Lemme tell ya... my investors left out of the blue. Left me penniless.
Uber and lyft saved my life. Within 20 minutes of losing a job, i was back at work.
It really depends lb the area that you live in, and what you dive.
Let me guess.... Not a hate crime.
Hate, but no crime. Just one a**hole, who probably lost his job and then sued for discrimination.
Fat chance of that, but if it had been a Christian who refused to take a women to get an abortion, or homosexuals to their wedding, it would be front page news and they would be quickly terminated (from their current jobs at least).

This raises for me one of the major problems of ride services. They offer a public service, they need to provide such services without discrimination based on various characteristics, religion being among them. He was required to drive them, though they're probably safer going with someone else. It's not worth it attempting to pursue this type of crime. The obvious solution would be to terminate his chauffeurs license. But he doesn't have one, because he doesn't need one. That should be corrected. And perhaps vehicle inspections should be a state function, with fee, rather than Uber's, the state does have an interest in the safety of patrons of transportation services. From airlines to trains to taxis to Uber. Heck, many states regulate who can drive minors, in non commercial functions.
Eleutheria5 addresses a problem relative to immigration, A Palestinian driver in Israel would hang out around pro-Israel events in order to pick up fares. We want immigrants who want to work for a living, that's how you improve your life. We don't need them importing their hate filled cultures. Were he here on a work permit, I'd send him home, but we don't have adequate numbers of work permits either. Permits for work, not to live here forever and become citizens.
We need to shut down ALL immigration for 100 years.
Hi.
“Hope he gets fired.”
I’ll second that.

Good thing they got out before the car exploded....
