“beginning to remove zoning protections for single-family neighborhoods”
How is “removing” zoning restrictions an assault on private property?
If a property owner wishes to build something other than a single family home on a piece of property then should they not be able to do so?

He wrote “remove protections” not “remove restrictions”.
They will only allow multi resident buildings. Won’t zone for single dwelling houses.
The problem with changing zoning laws is that no sane person would invest 30 years of mortgage payments in a property if the neighbor can demolish a single-family home and put up a multi-family non-owner-occupied welfare hive.
Zoning laws protect the homeowners toiling away to live there; they don’t want to see their area collapse to house foreign migrants, welfarians, etc.. Don’t take my word for it; this problem is causing many people to re-think buying homes.
You are kidding, right? You can’t be that ignorant.
It’s called “inclusionary zoning.” Instead of banning uses in a district, it forces you to have them. So much affordable housing in the district, houses need to house at least so many people, etc.
The most affluent neighborhoods are single family homes. When you put an apartment complex in that neighborhood, the value of those affluent properties will go down.
