As disgusting as the new rule is, I don’t see how the federal government has any jurisdiction here. It’s clearly a state matter. Then SCOTUS should never have made it a federal matter by come up with a contrived sanction of homosexual marriage, and thus criminalizing dissent by states that refuse to recognize it.

Now that they have done so, then they should be obligated to deal with the resulting conflicts, rather than cowardly not doing so.
