What, in your view, would be “credible” research?
Given that almost all basic research is government funded, I’m really curious about your answer.
I guess that means I’m highly skeptical of modern day science or what we the general public are told. How often are these same studies contradicted or for that matter proven by another team? True science is credible when assumptions and bias are stated or eliminated as much as possible AND it is testable and repeatable, basically conforming to the scientific method.

To put it another way - how can one assume it is good science when it would not even exist without the gov funds?
Do we not see that the majority of gov studies are a gigantic black hole of taxpayer dollars?
Do they not corrupt everything and try to influence the outcomes?
