How about a measure expressly permitting those with guns to open fire on ANY person attempting to take their gun after a disaster..?

That would “encourager les autres”.

Meanwhile we Missourians can open carry or conceal carry anytime. Go us!

You need a “license” to own a gun in Texas?

From the first sentence

“a bill that will allow licensed gun owners .....”

Classic example of reporters writing on a subject foreign to them. Texas does not have a "gun license" - what the legislation refers to is the ability of people without a concealed carry permit to carry without it in a time of public emergency. SOURCE. The argument was that not to do so risked the forced abandonment of firearms to any looters that might come along.

I prefer my state's approach: constitutional carry, i.e., the only permit you need to carry open or concealed is the 2nd Amendment. Serves to simplify matters considerably and I don't recall seeing any blood baths as a result.

Open and/or concealed carry by residents OK in WV for 2 years now.....no permit needed.

Lone star state should get with the program.

Same here in Arizona ... the suggestion to pass a law allowing the shooting of anyone including LE who attempts to take someones firearm without due process is a very good one.

No license to own gun in TX just license to carry open or concealed on self.

No license needed to have one in the car.

That's an inexcusable error isn't it? The entire raison d'être of the legislation is to allow those without concealed carry permits to secure their weapons after a disaster without fear of breaking a law. Yeesh.

We’ll never get Constitutional Carry in Texas, at least not with our corrupt Republican Speaker of the House.

I’ve carried concealed forever. With no licence except the second amendment.

"Meanwhile we Missourians can open carry or conceal carry anytime. Go us!"

Same in Arkansas. Texas needs to get on board.
