I don't see pot working for people who actually have severe pain.

I suspect they'll be passing pot out to patients it won't work for and then when their numbers look good to show they're fighting opioid use not letting patients go back to an opioid when the pot fails.

Heroin use will probably increase.

You are right. It's all about proper mitigation. But unfortunately, not all pain sufferers that are using opioids (or even those who aren't suffering but get prescriptions anyway) need the heavy-duty firepower of those medications. For these folks, pot would work just fine.

It's all about getting this out of our population to the extent where it's possible.

I take it. I love it. It reduces my pain at night. I took Vicodin and it worked great. Then one day it was gone and the pain management doctor told me there was nothing he could do.
There are so many of us in this predicament. I chose the medical stuff.

But, here is where the “tinfoil hat” comes in. Seems to me the government forced out opioids and the result coincidentally was to bring in revenue from marijuana.

It is but traditionally it has been used externally applied as a poultice or a bath. Ditch weed is fine, it doesn’t need to be dope-grade flower buds.

I don’t really see the point in this. Cannabis is legal for any use in CO so who would need a Dr.’s Rx for it?

Sure, have them prescribe the MM and go to pick it up. Use it all you want. Dont forget as a user of Marijuana, legal in the state or not, you are no longer allowed to be in posession of firearms. Let that sink in. Opiods yes, marijuana no

I really doubt any poultice would touch the pain killing power of opiates

Nor did I say that it would. I was responding to your statement that you didn’t think cannabis is a pain killer. You said nothing about opiates in your post.
