I see a parallel to the dying newspaper industry. People say "it's just that people don't want newspapers anymore."

Well, has anyone tried having a newspaper that's not a left-wing propaganda rag? No. So we don't really know if one would work.

As an old-school newspaperman, retired now these 10 years, I have often had the same thought.

Or as the late Andrew Breitbart once told journalists: “It’s not your business model that sucks, it’s you that sucks.”

We are told that “no one” listens to radio, yet the dial is still crowded with stations. Except they are mostly in any language but English and those that are in English are using canned playlists of 80 songs on constant repetition even if the format is not contemporary songs.

White people were supposed to buy “pay radio” (truckers and other business travelers did that for awhile). Now they largely use streaming or podcasts because the local stations don’t serve them.
