It is a potentially explosive development for the historically solid US-Australian alliance and the first time Trump has publicly named Australia while discussing what he calls the Russia hoax and witch hunt.
Trump said on Friday he had declassified potentially millions of pages of intelligence documents related to surveillance activities on his campaign and Barr would be in charge of analysing it.
So what Ive done is Ive declassified everything, Trump told reporters at the White House on Friday before leaving on a trip to Japan.
He can look and I hope he looks at the UK and I hope he looks at Australia and I hope he looks at Ukraine.
I hope he looks at everything, because there was a hoax that was perpetrated on our country.

Aussies appear to have elected their own Trump.
The relationship is solid.
Yes Turnbull is a globalist @rick. No two ways about it. His son helped out to lose a long held federal electorate seat ( Tony Abbot). Fortunately the seat he formerly held returned to the fold this election. Downer is a toffy nosed @ickhead with an effeminate voice.
Perfect description.
At this point in time that is entirely new information. Could you please give us a source for that? Thank you in advance.
Undoubtedly, protecting the usurpation is still the highest priority for the Deep State.
ANYONE, ANYWHERE actively working AGAINST, We The People to try to get That Beotch elected as President so they could continue BILKING us for BILLIONS A YEAR needs to be swinging from the end of a rope!
All Enemies, Foreign AND Domestic!
Best. Election. Ever. EVER! MAGA! :)
You speaketh the truth Diana! If there were ever any doubt that DJT was God-sent, this is it!
No, the meeting was arranged by Erika Thompson, an Australian who was a political counsellor at Australia's London High Commission. Papadopolis didn't "request" it. The question is, who in the CIA or State Department reached out to the Australians to set up this meeting? How did Downer even know who Papadopolis was?
Downer's claim that "We just arranged to have a drink with him on the way home one evening." Is obviously a lie.
As Papadopoulos said, The notion that Downer randomly reached out to me just to have a gin and tonic is laughable. Some organization or entity sent him to meet me.
Papadopoulos frequently leaves out his communications with the Greek foreign ministry over the same time period. When the shtf, we all go tribal, and there’s more than a little of that going on here.
That said, in America we speak of The Establishment as the Uniparty. I know they have it in Britain because I saw a picture of it just today on Twitter:

Heseltine the alleged Thatcher Tory cabinet minister, Clegg the LDP leader, and Adonis, Labour PC.
When I was a boy, we used to argue whether or not professional wrestling was real. I mean fistfights during recess over the issue. Then two pro wrestlers got busted in a car with cocaine and hookers, right after they’d allegedly been beating each other’s brains out inside the ring. Never watched another match, regardless of how much I loved Superfly Snuka off the top ring rope for the “vertical souflex”.
Same here with politics.
Downer was just protecting his investment in the Clintons.
Very bad investment going forward from here.

No, Alexander Downer did not do this. Papadopoulous asked him for meeting and the man either couldn't keep his mouth shut or he was deliberately feeding this information to the Australian High Commissioner - of course, the Australian High Commissioner would report it to Canberra. That is his job.
Downer gave an interview on Australian television a couple of weeks ago about this. That interview matches what I've heard from a number of different sources. It also matches common sense.
His Excellency the Honourable Alexander Downer, Companion of the Order of Australia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, High Commmisioner of the Commonwealth of Australia to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, is not going to be somebody who is used to entrap a young lawyer, working as a minor adviser to a Republican Presidential candidate. Downer isn't an intelligence agent - he's way too high profile for that including his time as Australia's longest serving Foreign Minister (equivalent to your Secretary of State).
What happened is fairly simple - Papadopoulous was friends with somebody working at the Israeli embassy in London. That man was the boyfriend of a relatively junior staffer at the Australian High Commission (the two are now engaged). He introduced Papadopolous to his girlfriend and when Papadopoulous found out where she worked, he asked if she could arrange a meeting between himself and the High Commissioner Alexander Downer. He said he worked for Donald Trump, who was that stage likely to be the Republican nominee and therefore was potentially a US President. On that basis, Downer agreed to meet with Papadopoulous on the grounds he might be a useful person to know.
The Australian High Commissioner does not go trawling for people to talk to. That doesn't make any sense.
At the meeting, Papadopoulous - for whatever reason - told Downer the Russians had some sort of compromising information concerning Hilary Clinton. He knew who he was talking to - the representative of the Australian government in the United Kingdom. If he did not expect that information to be passed back to Canberra, he would have to be an absolute moron.
The meeting was arranged by Thompson after Papadopoulous asked her to see if she could get him an appointment with Downer. Downer knew who he was because Thompson was the girlfriend (not the fiance) of one of Papadopoulous friends (Cantor, I think his name is, but I'd have to look that up to be sure) and when Papadopoulous heard she worked at the Australian High Commission, he asked her could she get him an appointment with Downer, saying he worked for Donald Trump. That's all Downer knew about him, but as Donald Trump was likely to be the Republican nominee, Downer felt it was worth a short, informal meeting with somebody who said he knew him.
In terms of the donation, that donation was made by AusAid, the agency that back then (until 2007, IIRC) distributed Australia's foreign aid. It was given as a donation to the Clinton Foundation to aid in work related to HIV in the developing world. Critically AusAid was deliberately designed so politicians (like the Foreign Minister) did not decide where aid was distributed to avoid political interference in what were meant to be purely humanitarian programs. Downer did not decide on the donation - the system was deliberately set up so he was at arms length from decisions like that.
But even if he had been, it would have just been a routine aid donation to an American based NGO.
Yes, I just watched it all. He wasn't asked and didn't say who called for the meeting or why they had the meeting. The only interview Downer has given was in this article. His only comment on how/why they met was this...
"We just arranged to have a drink with him on the way home one evening," he said.
That doesn't come close to saying Papadopoulos asked for the meeting.
Papadopoulous asked for a meeting with the Australian High Commissioner.
All I asked for was your source on that not your opinion of the man. Do you have a source for that or not?
What is your source for that? Link please.
We have “why are we allied with you” level questions for both the UK and Australia, and both should be considered valid military targets until and unless satisfying answers are produced.
An Australian government official tried to overthrow our government. If you see B-52s overhead you’ll know we didn’t like your government’s answer.
That directly contradicts Downer's recollection of the meeting as he told it to Bolt. He said, "at that stage Trump wasn't even the candidate for the Republicans. He hadn't even won the nomination, so, I mean, this is all taken out of context."
