I think that this move may be predicated on the DOJIG needing the declassification so that he can release an unredacted, or minimally redacted, report and to allow AG Barr to open documents up for US Attorney Huber and Durham to use in a timely manner instead of spending months trying to get them from the other agencies. That's an interesting theory. It would also allow Inspector General Horowitz to release his report with far fewer redactions, making it much more intelligible to people. Given that the IG report is all about FBI and DOJ misbehavior (by definition, that's all the OIG works on) the more transparent and un-redacted that report is the better!

After reading the slew of articles on the Dem’s reaction to declassification I think that they know that the IG report had to redact “evidence” of putting a thumb on the scale and now are frantic that it will be unredacted. Fear my FRiend is want is driving this.
