EPA pursues new cost-benefit analysis for regulation that critics fear will undermine climate rules

The Environmental Protection Agency is pursuing new rules for regulatory cost-benefit analysis that critics fear could undermine the agency's regulation of climate pollution by saying it costs too much.

...

"This action supports the Trump Administration’s efforts to identify regulations that impose costs that exceed benefits, providing clarity, transparency and consistency in how regulations are written," EPA said in releasing the memo.

...

Environmentalists decried the memo as a threat to efforts to curb climate change on the grounds that it would undermine the need for new regulations.

The enviro-wackos are going to go ballistic over this one!

Let them write a check from their activism funds to the EPA to cover the regulation effort they deem necessary.

Otherwise dial BR-549 and ask to speak with the 9th circuit judge on duty

If the POTUS can’t eliminate an agency, can’t he transfer every employee to the Aleutian Islands?

That’s how the eco nazis have been getting away with their bs. They’ve severely underestimated the economic impact that is supposed to be taken into consideration by orders of magnitude.

In the 70’s & early 80’s the nuclear power industry applied a cost benefit principle to radiation protection.

The standard cited most often was $1,000 to reduce exposure by one man-rem. Thus $1,000/man-rem was deemed cost beneficial

Then the metric system kicked in along with newly discovered political correctness.

The basic unit was now a sievert and you couldn’t use the term “man”-—the PC term was “person”

Applying all the appropriate conversion factors, $1,000/man-rem became approximately $100,000/pervert

(Perhaps we saved too many perverts because there seems to be an abundance of them running around today)

He could send them there, but the islands would be likely to capsize.

The resulting tidal wave could inundate Hank Johnson’s precious Territory of Guam along with its excess Marine detachment

Now, there’s a thought. Government engaging
in cost-benefit analysis. Nah, who’m I kidding?

Cost doesn’t matter as long as the pol gets a benefit.
The more cost, the more benefit, and you get California
light rail, corn in your gas tank, and labor unions.

Should have done this decades ago before they came up with the recycling garbage.
