... and even though there were some misfires (the puck mouse and the Apple Cube)

I like the Cube, I have a couple in my collection with the speakers and they still work on the Internet. The New York Museum of Modern Art holds a G4 Cube, along with its distinctive Harman Kardon transparent speakers, as part of its collection. Great design and beautiful. Under Jonny Ive, design and art were as important as function. Jobs also thought that design was important and let Ive experiment. Cook is a manager, not a designer, and it shows.

Speak for yourself, idiot.

WE have not failed anyone. We brought people into a safe wealth and healthy world, more so than any time in history. What people then do with it is up to them. When we get this whiny snowflakes mentality, don’t blame me (as they tend to do). We/they have unlimited opportunities to achieve a monumental things. Smoking dope and living with mommy is not my fault or problem.

Apple is evil as is this Cook guy.

It would be nice if Rush rips him a new one on Thursday. I’m tired of praise for Apple.

Apple CEO Tim Cook was having an upper class pity party for one...

Reminds me of a few years ago when the 'in' thing among 'elites' was to moan about NOT paying enough in taxes (because they're 'oh so wealthy' and should be doing MORE per their station in life.

Around that time someone pointed out they could just write out a big fat check to the IRS - that everyone's taxes didn't have to be raised for them to 'pay more'...

That was the end of that elite pity party.

The one about Global Warming is the newest one... Elites want everyone taxed MORE ... even themselves. Of course the burden will be much greater on all of us - and not crap for them... but it'll increase the spread... and that's what they love.

Screw this phony...maybe he should have offered to pay off everyone's student loads or offered to hire Americans rather than cheap foreign labor. Now THAT would have mattered.

I try to keep things simple. For example, I've told my 3 kids two important things I've done for them: one, made sure they were born in Texas; two, I taught them how to swim. Everything else is pure gravy.

Likewise, as a Boomer, we did two things that no one can take away from us: one, we elected Reagan (with a lot of help from the Great Generation); two, we ended the Cold War. Everything else is pure gravy.

These generational battles grow more tedious with each day.

“Our generation” ran up the national debt to $22 trillion, ruined healthcare, made college unaffordable, watched while open borders changed demographics for the worse, let God be erased from our culture, killed millions of babies, turned congress into a circus, did nothing to reign in the administrative state, accepted perverted behavior as “normal”, and stood by while socialism crept into our government.

I wish that “climate change” was our generations worst damage to America.

I found the source of the climate change scam. It happened back in 1979, first world climate conference where they claimed the same crap the left is claiming today, that in 10 years we will be destroyed. Well here we are almost half a century later and I can tell absolutely no difference in the climate and I’m almost 60 and have lived in the same area by the sea since I was 20.

Your meme is false in its first claim. Apple is not spying on its users 24/7, BTerclinger. You are mistaking Apple for Google and Microsoft.

The data that Apple has on its users is minuscule compared to the data that Google, Amazon, Facebook, and Microsoft retains.

In May of 2018, Jefferson Graham of USA Today, as was his right, asked tech companies for copies of every piece of data they had retained on him. He was shocked at the differences between them:

“The zip file I eventually received from Apple was tiny, only 9 megabytes, compared to 243 MB from Google and 881 MB from Facebook. And there's not much there, because Apple says the information is primarily kept on your device, not its servers. The one sentence highlight: a list of my downloads, purchases and repairs, but not my search histories through the Siri personal assistant or the Safari browser.”

According to the file, it had made time stamps of when I backed up my iPhone, when I uploaded photos to iCloud and really boring things like that. It had stored my e-mail and physical address, but not the phone number, which is odd, since the information came from the iPhone.

. . .

It kept a copy of every app and song I'd downloaded, every tune I'd added to my iTunes music library, and every time I needed repair on a multitude of Apple devices going back a decade.

What it didn't include

What Apple didn’t share with me is all the questions I've asked the Siri personal digital assistant, queries it gathers to make the artificial intelligence smarter.

The company says the data wouldn't tell an individual user anything, since it's not associated with him or her. Your Siri requests —"Show me how to get to PF Chang's," or "What year was Steve Jobs born?" go back to Apple — but it uses a random identifier to mask your identity. So a Siri search for the closest Chipotle restaurant will only tell Apple that a user requested the data, but not associate it with me.

The company says flatly that it doesn’t want your personal information and doesn’t store it.

On the Safari browser on my Macs, my browsing history goes back to July 2017, but Apple says it doesn't track that information.

As a result, the personal download is very different from what I got from competitors Facebook and Google, which both track our moves, likes and queries in order to sell targeted advertising to sponsors.

At just 9 MB, Apple had retained less than 6.25% of the 243 MB of personal user data that Google had retained of its user data, and just 1% of the 881 MB that Amazon has on its user. And, BTerclinger, that was across multiple Apple devices. Yet you stand there and post a lie about the privacy that Apple provides for their users compared to the other tech companies. Microsoft is making its users jump through hoops to learn how to turn of multiple switches to prevent their private data from being transmitted back to Microsoft to be shared with who knows who. Android is essentially Google. . . Invented purposely to provide a mine for user data to sell to its real customers.

As for your complaint about Apple donating $1 million to the SPLC, you are right. Cook also gave a similar $1 million to the Anti-Defamation League. However, those were only two out of many more donations Apple gave to charities under Cook. . . and to disaster relief efforts. In particular, Apple has donated dozens of millions of dollars to earthquake, tsunami, hurricane, and wildfire relief in the past seven years around the world. Frankly, ‘’Apple customers” did not pay Apple to improve hardware and software, but the customers paid for the hardware, software, and services they bought at the time they bought them. So you’ve posted another disingenuous statement.

“What Apple didn’t share with me is all the questions I’ve asked the Siri personal digital assistant”

because he and you and everyone else believes that what that raving sodomite did to his millions of Chinese customers (sell them out to their communist govt) he HASN’T and would NEVER do to Americans, because he LOVES America so much he PERSONALLY gave millions to groups trying to make Southern States BEND OVER and take gay BS.

PS - don’t shove ADL at me, they are barely focussed on protecting Jews, they are run by a former communist.

PPS - “Apple customers” did not pay Apple to improve hardware and software, but the customers paid for the hardware, software, and services they bought at the time they bought them.”

So we buy it expecting NO UPGRADES?

Peddle that somewhere else.

Notice how he invokes the group thing instead of declaring that “HE” failed them.

Problem with leftist style mechanisms is that when a group is invoked for decisions it is easy to dodge responsibility.
