Good question - heroin has more pain-relieving characteristics than morphine and less than fentanyl...cocaine also has pain-relief characteristics.
I was treated with a dose of fentanyl after a hip replacement and noted that the
high” was not a pleasant one where morphine and cocaine can make one a bit “happier” for a while...seems like heroin and fentanyl are more for the “forget the good feelings, I just want to erase all feelings” folks - who often succeed 100%...
Very good point... most heroin ad,dicts have emotional and mental issues... escaping reality, to some degree is something they they do pursue... “self-medicating” knowingly or unknowingly.
Many cannot kick the habit, even after long rehabs, until they address the underlying issues driving the desire.
My daughter appears to be one of the furtunate ones... she almost died... but now seems to be moving forward in her recovery. She had an extremely poor self image... which led to many unheaathy choices and victimizations... but only through God’s grace, and I really mean that, has she crawled out of the hole that she was trapped in.
