Obama’s top FBI lawyer says he was ‘concerned’ about the Steele Dossier prior to 2016 election

In what can only be construed as more evidence that the deep state rats who sold out their souls for Barack Obama’s “Spygate” plot are worried that their days of freedom are numbered, the former president’s onetime top lawyer at the FBI threw more people under the bus on Friday.

James Baker told told MSNBC‘s Chuck Todd that he was “concerned” about the legitimacy and veracity of the infamous “Steele Dossier” used to secure surveillance warrants against the 2016 Trump campaign when the bureau received it ahead of the election.

“It was more information that we viewed, that I viewed, skeptically from the outset, and I was concerned about it and had a jaundiced eye, or looked at it with a jaundiced eye right from the outset,” Baker said.

“Steele was and had been a source that we thought was reliable. He’s reporting all this information. It looks alarming. We took it seriously, but we tried to vet it,” Baker added.

Ya, he was concerned they’d get caught.

FTA: James Baker told told MSNBC‘s Chuck Todd that he was “concerned” about the legitimacy and veracity of the infamous “Steele Dossier...”

If he made his "concerns" known in writing, either in an e-mail or on a staff summary sheet, then he might be able avoid prosecution.

However, if he signed off on the FISA application without dissent, then he best hope for the upper bunk.

Still waiting for the first indictment...cautiously optimistic.

There has been chatter on the Chan’s for a week that Greg Craig was singing like a bird, trying to make a deal to keep himself out of prison.

Let me know when anyone is charged with a crime. Convinced nothing is going to happen to any of these criminals.

Baker would like to claim that his deliberately looking the other way was a “mistake.” Mistakes aren’t on purpose...they’re accidental. To label them as such is being a liar, and a fraud.

"Still waiting for the first indictment...cautiously optimistic. "

I'm not optimistic at all. We've seen this game many many times. Barr and the DOJ will keep expanding the investigation muddying the waters and the potential for prosecution. I'm fine with continuing to investigate all the way to obama but not if it means holding off on indictments. Hillary and Comey are both clearly guilty of multiple felony crimes. There is no reason to hold off on prosecuting both of them. Hillary obstructed justice (slam dunk) and violated the espionage act (also slam dunk). Comey leaked classified information to a third party to bring about a phony investigation of the president. Comey has publicly admitted he leaked this information and that is a felony. He should be charged right now. How long did mueller and co wait to charge Paul manafort, Cohen, etc. Did his team hold off two years? No because they know that's how to get those charged to implicate the others. The fact that our "side" is not charging the obvious crimes of hillary and comey make me think they are just trying to run out the clock.

Good.....You can both crawl back under your rocks now and dream of how glorious hyperbolic cynicism can truly be.

They didn’t give Trump any attorney-client privilege when it came to his lawyer Cohen.

This is not news. Baker already told the same thing to Congress back in October 2018 and the transcripts were released in March 2019.

In fact Baker used the same exact language on NBC that he did when he testified in Congress, from the transcript: “I had a jaundiced eye about everything, yes. I had skepticism about all this stuff. I was concerned about all of this. This whole situation was horrible, and it was novel and we were trying to figure out what to do, and it was highly unusual,” Baker told lawmakers.

It's good that Chuck Todd and NBC News are on top of things!

I'm not optimistic at all....

I cannot fault your logic or your rationale.

However, I am optimistic because:

Jeff Sessions (big disappointment) is no longer AG.

Bill Barr is AG.

Bill Barr's language indicates he intends to get to the bottom of what started the witch hunt. So far, he is not satisfied with the explanation he has received.

The Mueller witch hunt has ended, although the dims are trying to keep it alive.

Bill Barr ended the witch hunt.

POTUS Trump has changed his verbiage from witch hunt/hoax to coup/treason.

The coup leaders are trying to control the narrative. If the fix was in, they would fade away.

IMHO, the IG report on FISA abuse is key. If the IG report is a whitewash, then my optimism will certainly wane.

Hey I'm more than happy to be proven wrong, but every day we uncover more corruption in the upper levels of our government and I have yet to see one person held accountable.

Lois Lerner ever get prosecuted ?

Not are people not prosecuted but they are not even held to a standard, fired and loss of pension ? NOPE !

Why don't you take that "Rock" you think I should hide under and go hit yourself in the forehead.

Thought it was such a great thought you’d post it twice?

You’re analogy is at best specious as the circumstances are significantly different now.
