Morning boys and gals,ladies and gents,went back to sleep for a few minutes at 7:00 am and just woke up. I’m really beat this week, I feel like Arnold without the kick. LOL!
my kick was different.
Tuesday I went to Homestead,just South of Miami and met a fellow rod builder for discussions(I hired the guy he seems great) at the Red Lobster in Fla. City. We had a great lunch talked building rods for a sloid hour without a break.
I paid for lunch with my credit card and left to go back to the Keys.
Around 6:30 I discovered my credit card was gone.I went to my shop to see if I left it there and while there got a call from my banks fraud dept.
Seems my card had been used at seven gas stations in the region up there and two had gone through.Seems the server (can’t call them waitresses any more—more dem chat)had stolen my card and given it to her buddies in the area.
I called Red Lobster mgmt. at the restaurant and they told me yeah that had problems with that server!!
I noticed she was black and then it all hit me they were afraid to can her!!Long short of it all I’m still out about a hundred bucks trying to get it back and as far as I know the criminal server is still there!!
I had lunch with a top law enforcement official in the Keys and as I told him he nodded his head saying it was not a big surprise to him.
Gotta wonder where we are headed,bricks thrown at speakers,Arnold gets kicked while snap chatting and servers routinely steal credit cards brave new world??
Damn, Man! Go back, find where she keeps her purse, and when she’s not looking, take it.
Drive to some deserted dumpster and toss it in.
And while Ahnold got kicked, he sure spun around and handled the perp properly, just like in one of his movies.
Late to thread. In Bahamas, by the way my wife caught a big 40 lb wahoo on one of the rods you sold me years ago. Had it set as a flat line with a flying fish on it from baitmasters in Miami.
That said we had an experience years ago where They copies our card ran up some small bills and then purchased high end stuff at Nordstrom’s.
It was an Amex card so was taken care of quickly.
Another time in Abacos, paid via card at checkout so had receipt. All of a sudden see charges in Australia at 5 grocery stores in different parts of the country all on The same day. Easy fix when faxing proof of location to card holder to ask how could we be in too different parts of the world and multiple locations to boot.
The thieves are getting smarter all the time in how fast they use the card even if we get reimbursed as they still keep whatever they bought
