That’s rough; I’ve seen similar contraction in the financial sector (though probably not on that scale). Thank God you’re OK where you are.
I can’t complain but know there is better out there.
For a mere technician, I am generally left to handle things as I see fit, seldom questioned, have a good sized private office, and am treated very well.
I have been in far worse gigs, especially during the time of the wun, and know others in similar jobs who make way less. Most of them have actual degrees and fancy papers, unlike me.
