Which American values are those? Homosexuality? Big government tyranny? Onerous taxation? Slaughter of innocents? All those principles the Constitution and Declaration enshrine?
I think there is a stark gap between what we see as our values (as perceived and implemented by our Age-of-Enlightenment Founders, values such as the Nation State, limited government, consent of the governed, separation of powers, and free markets) and what the Democrats see as our values (embrace of various human "rights", wealth redistribution, social justice activism, and environmentalism).
In fairness, they have been able to articulate and promote their values through the media, academia, and Hollywood better than we have.
