Re: You don’t read the Constitution much, do you?

LOL!

E-Verify is in the Constitution? Who knew?

In the meantime, YOU need to read the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, also known as the “Reagan Amnesty.”

IRCA requires all USA employers to collect a signed work authorization Form I-9 from every potential employee.

The purpose of E-Verify is to validate information on I-9s - for federal employees AND every other employee in the USA.

George W. Bush - trying to appease opponents to his Amnesty in 2007 - ordered a Department of Homeland Security regulation that required E-Verify for SOME federal employees and contractors.

Bush - as well as Trump - could have extended E-Verify to ALL employees in the USA, any time they wanted to.

Of course, since and Bush and Trump do not want Universal E-Verify, they never even tried to enforce it.

No, that is impossible without a new law. They only have authority over federal employees.

You do not understand “law” and the powers of a president.
