Try the 6.8 SPC II. It's what an AR should have been instead of 5.56.

I love the one I got recently. Of course it is not as cheap to shoot so I naturally had to get a 556/223 to plink with.

“Try the 6.8 SPC II”

That wouldn’t be legal in the southern MI shotgun zone. Only straight walled pistol cartridges 35 cal or larger.

“The ammunition for the rifles must have a minimum case length of 1.16 and a maximum case length of 1.80 inches.
Examples of firearms now legal for the southern part of the state include, but are not limited to, a .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum, .45 Colt, .450 Bushmaster, and .460 S&W.
“People have been asking for this for years and the change in rules allows people to have and use one gun,” Westra said. “They don’t have to have one gun for down here and another for up north.
“It made sense to make it easier for the hunters.”
Westra said the rifle allowance opens up hunting to a wider group of southern Michigan outdoor enthusiasts. Hunting backers have long said the power of a shotgun’s recoil limited the ability of some youth, women and senior citizens to enjoy the recreational activity. “
