Out of all the criticisms of Donald Trump, the one I've never understood is that he's somehow anti-gay. The Trump/Pence ticket was supposed to have put up conversion-therapy camps all across America by now, right? Yet somehow it hasn't happened. With all the legitimate reasons for a person to oppose Trump, they still keep making stuff up.
Pete Buttigieg has been capitalizing on this, depicting himself as some sort of victim. He wants you to think Trump is oppressing him. He just can't seem to get Trump to play along.
Check out this clip from an interview Trump just gave to Steve Hilton, which will air on Fox News this Sunday night. Hilton asks what Trump thinks of Buttigieg's marriage:

Now, that's not to say Trump is a big fan of Buttigieg. The other day he referred to Mayor Pete as "Alfred E. Neuman," which is kind of funny. And Buttigieg said he had to Google "Alfred E. Neuman" because he's not old like Trump, which is also kind of funny. But Trump is teasing him for looking like a dork, not for being gay. Trump insults everybody who's a threat to him. It's nothing new, and there's no reason to expect Buttigieg to be exempt.
Besides, isn't Alfred E. Neuman a sort of trickster god, always humiliating people who are too full of themselves? I wouldn't want to mess with Neuman. Take the compliment, Pete.
Even more preposterous is the charge that Trump is antisemitic.
You live in a country where tens of millions of voters hang on every word from Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah Winfrey.
A President like DJT cannot turn his back on people like that who voted for him. He did not run against same-sex marriage, I do not believe he has ever promised to act against it.
I will not abandon him over this.

Instead of saying Buttigeig’s marriage was “absolutely fine” or “great” I wish Trump would have just said “it’s his life”. Toleration of a bad way of life need not mean approving of it.

The fact is that Trump knows most gays actually support him, not anti-freedom pretenders like Mayor Pete.
Who cares,the country has massive other issues to deal with.
I don’t care what people do in the privacy of their bedrooms.
That being said, I don’t want gay people to be in positions of power, because their worldview tends to be warped.

I think he’s saying exactly what he believes — always has believed. We knew he was socially liberal when we hired him.
I was hoping that his opinion changed when he allegedly got saved at Billy Graham’s birthday celebration. We don’t know what’s in a man’s heart. Some things take time.
Frankly the more exposure of Mayor Pete and his husband on the public stage, the better Let the people decide if this is what they want as a POTUS
Yes on both accounts. Trump knows Peter, Chasing will never be near the white house so why talk about it. He also knows that the majority of the voters are net ready for a gay president.
Since Petie refers to his mate as his husband, it would seem that Petie is the wife, so what would we call each of them...I am very confused!
Many gays are back in the closet. They can’t come out and admit they support Trump.
I do, too. I thought the younger Ted Koppel looked like Alfred E. Neuman.
In the current political climate, being somehow ‘anti-gay’ is the kiss of death.
