Trump may be using the term treason for effect. Most people in this country probably wouldn’t pay much attention to charges of “sedition” or “subversion” as their definitions are not well understood. Treason is a loaded word and most people immediately have a good idea of what it means. Like Trump often does, he keeps it simple and impactful, even at the risk of some literary license.

Apparently not. There is no way that what happened during the campaign can be misconstrued as treason. Illegal? Maybe. But treason is defined by the Constitution, and what happened ain't it.
