Absolutely. If they were smart about it, they could tap in on a pro-American theme and emphasize that some prices might go up a bit, but this was to assist in preserving American jobs.

What do you expect? Walmart is also a terrible employer.

You would think but at the end of the day people act with their wallets. If the Meijer’s a half a mile away is consistently cheaper that’s where they will go.

I am old enough to remember when Wal-Mart used to pride itself on selling American-made products. Going back to that could be an effective strategy again.

It’s funny how any tariffs imposed by America are called Trump tafiffs. But tariffs imposed by China are NOT called Xi tariffs.

How about look to your own country? Was that not one of their early selling points?

The original logo of WalMart included “Made in the USA” or words to that effect.

Partner, you hit a homerun with this statement.
There are so many American companies that have literally camped out in the enemies backyard and sell whatever they make and sell it back to the U.S.A. at a reduced price. Plus, other high tech companies have plants in China where the Chicoms are stealing our technology.
Partner, u are so correct and the main reason why President Trump is trying to negotiate with the Chicoms but unfortunately we are seeing the Chicoms game plan and that is to dominate the whole world with their Communist/Socialist government,
The Chicoms want the largest economy in the whole world, but thank God we have a President Trump who has read their playbook and it ain't good for America and the American worker.

This is exactly what I expected and one of the things Trump predicted. My point is, I dont think the Chicoms were prepared to see the Trump Train pulling out of the station so quickly leaving them behind. This is what it will take to allow Trump to bring the Chinese to heel.

I remember. back in the 80s, Wal-Mart had signs bragging about all the US made products they were selling.

A considerable amount of Chinese stuff is crap. People would be better off getting many items at garage sales, good old fashion American made stuff that might last forever.

This is why Trumps tariffs will work. We can go anywhere to buy products. The Chicoms need our market in order to sell theirs. Nobody else in the world buys anywhere near what we buy. Others will fill in for what the tariffs made more expensive. And, the Chicoms need our food in order to feed their population so putting retaliatory tariffs on our farm goods is cutting off their noses to spite their face. Stay the course Trump, we’re winning again.

Whered Trump get that crystal ball and magic wand? Im very surprised to see Walmart prospering while threatening to throw the Chicoms under the bus.
