2020 is the last go-round for Biden and Sanders (and probably Warren too). Of the others, how is it possible to gain "Gravitas" by 2024? It isn't.

First issue I see is with Dem voters.
Welfare receiving voters that will vote Yes to more free stuff.
Liberal Hipsters that don’t have a firm grasp on reality or they really aren’t in the game yet with a house, mortgage, etc. They’re still living at home or in apartments with roommates so expenses aren’t a big deal for them, yet.
Of course you’ll have all the illegals that will be allowed to vote in NYC, LA, Chicago, where their votes don’t really matter, but they do make the margins a bit bigger for the Dem’s.
Then we have the upper middle class/affluent/rich, white liberals who can afford to insulate themselves from all these policies. They live in the nicer parts of the cities. Surrounded by their fellow white liberals. They talk of all the good they do, but if a brown person walks down their street they’re calling 911. They actually live their lives, financially, like a greedy capitalist, Republican, but they talk about how compassionate they are, over a glass of Chardonnay, as long as those they care about so much live 30 miles away in a slum.
Second and most important issue in next years election is, without a doubt, the voter fraud that is going to take place. I will not be surprised if we end up having some legitimate 3rd world, in your face ballot stuffing BS and violence. Then results will be judge shopped to the most loyal liberal jurist who will declare the winner.
Most likely that winner will be clinton. I do not for one minute, as long as that thing is breathing on this planet, believe that she will not be the Dem candidate.
The only thing that could possibly save this thing is, if she does show up and the Left stays home.

I agree that Joe will fade away with time, but whatever rational minds that are left in the Democratic party seem to realize that the other 50 fools that are running will get buried by Trump & are propelling Biden right now in the polls.
Well Dole, McCain and Mitt vanquished the field too, but what did it earn us? Just because it was “his turn”.

This is really screwing up DNC plans for their 2020 candidate. They were hoping to shoehorn in one of the younger, more radical candidates and Biden is getting in the way.
Jack, the week before the 2016 election, the polls showed Hillary favored to win 90/10%.
This far out from the start of primaries, these polls are about as valuable as gravel at the breakfast table.
I get your points about thinning the herd, but after watching how Hillary thinned the herd in 2016, namely acing out Bernie Sanders by chicanery, I don’t put anything above the media.
Let the candidates fight it out. To heck with these polls.
