This could deter the Chicoms from slapping retaliatory tariffs on U.S. agricultural products.
Might have to buy pigs from the USA...Charge them double
Agreed. There's nothing more gruesome than a postpartum-depressed, bereaved pig who's sh*tting everywhere.
...how can they tell?
That’s the question I had: what does this do to the ongoing trade war? At first glance, it seems like it puts China in an awkward spot for retaliation and removes a weapon they could use, but I’m not sure about domestic pork supply and how much we may import from China.
They do already. A lot of that business will get transferred to Brazil, Canada, Netherlands, etc...
By comparison, the US has about 70+ million hogs at any one time, and produces around 150 million hogs per year.
About 25% of US pork is exported. Mexico and Japan are largest export markets for US pork.
“I guess vegetarians, Vegans, and those who eat Kosher and Halal don’t have to worry about this”
Yes, except ....http://theawkwardyeti.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/awkward-yeti-food-poisoning1.png
Sounds like we need to save China’s bacon.
They were just interviewing a hog Farmer on Fox News a few days ago. He was complaining about the tariffs, saying that it was killing him. Apparently China is a major importer of delicious pigs from America. What a coincidence, that Chinese pigs would get sick at at this crucial juncture when our farmers really need to sell their pigs!
He doesn’t jig anymore.

LOL!
Buy Pork Bellies.
We have enough wild feral hogs in Texas and the Southeast to feed China.
I also read that our soybeans are used to feed pigs, so demand for soybeans will be way down.
The loss of any bacon is a tragedy.
Jusr brand it Halal and sell as veal to the muzzies.
Never let a crisis go to waste.
This probably won’t make much of an impact on Sinkiang Province, where, for obvious reasons, few pigs are likely to be found.
