Alabama Senate to vote on bill banning abortion

Alabama’s state Senate was due to vote on a bill on Tuesday that would outlaw nearly all abortions, but will first consider whether to allow the procedure for women and girls impregnated by rape and incest.

Debate on the strictest anti-abortion bill in the United States was set to begin in the Republican-controlled chamber at 4 p.m. CDT (2100 GMT). It would be the latest in a procession of anti-abortion bills across the country that activists are hoping will result in the issue going before the U.S. Supreme Court.

The bill previously passed the Republican-dominated Alabama House of Representatives. Republican Governor Kay Ivey has withheld comment on whether she would sign it but generally is a strong opponent of abortion.

The Alabama debate follows passage of anti-abortion laws in states that border it to the east and west, Georgia and Mississippi, creating what abortion rights advocates have warned would be a large “abortion desert.”

Legislation to restrict abortion rights has been introduced in 16 states this year, four of whose governors have signed bills banning abortion if a fetal heartbeat can be detected, according to the Guttmacher Institute, which advocates for abortion rights.

Seems like the pro-abortion fanatics negotiate this among themselves. SCOTUS already voted on Roe v Wade, yet they still want to fight this battle. Well, play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

The red states going down this road is a response to NY Gov. Cuomo’s push earlier this year to remove all limitations from abortion. The objective is to get the SCOTUS to review Roe v. Wade.

Regardless, some low level inept federal hack appointed by obummer will negate anything resembling sanity.

If they put that cowardly excuse for “rape and incest” in there, then Alabama law should be changed such that ANYONE can murder ANYONE who happened to be conceived by rape and/or incest, from before birth to death, and get a FREE PASS for it. (Who knows, maybe we can knock out some politicians that way.) Because what’s the difference between murdered in the womb and murdered at age 18? Still DEAD!

Sooner or later, one of these abortion bills is going to force the Supreme Court to get some guts and re-examine the Roe vs Wade decision. When they do, they must remember the 10th and 11th Amendments to the Constitution which nullifies Roe vs Wade, thereby turning juristiction back to the States. It’s gonna happen!
