Would it not be logical to discuss origin before evolution?

Isaac Newton's theory of universal gravitation explains how matter interacts with other matter, but has nothing to say about where matter comes from. Should he not have bothered publishing his theory because it's not logical to discuss anything about matter until we first discuss its origin?

That is nice but that doesn't answer my question convening life itself. Isn't understanding the first primitive cellar life the most fundamental to evolutionary theory? How did the first plant/animal cells "evolve"? So I think it is a fundamental question.
