The legislation is titled Target Practice and Marksmanship Training Support Act, but is known more simply as the Range Bill. It deals with Pittman-Robinson funds, which have been compounding from ammo and gun manufacturing excise tax revenues since 1937.
The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) Larry Keane notes that the Range Bill give the states more flexibility in how they can use their Pittman Robertson allocation to pay for the construction of new ranges and expansion or improvements to existing ones.

I’d like to see them put gun safety training and gun clubs back in the high schools.

You may note that your current "private" range already takes note of your attendance and participation. (Assuming you live on less than 35 acres)
Not sure I want a gov't range having direct access to those records.

if the Left was truly interested in reducing accidental shootings by children and teens, they would demand that Eddie Eagle or some equivalent be mandatory in every gradeschool

Sounds very good.
Liberal heads will implode inward like a ping pong ball with the air sucked out and that is a good thing.

What of Leftists who complain about "noise pollution", or the ones who call the cops every time they hear a shot fired, or the lady who brought in a rifle cartridge, case, primer, bullet, the whole thing, claiming it hit her house, from a mile away?
While we can't fix stupid, we don't have to encourage it.

Scotch absolutely but sober now. Still allergic though to Federal government spending money on things that are extraneous.

Still allergic though to Federal government spending money on things that are extraneous. That is a natural occurrence for conservatives. We have a natural repellance to housing projects, universal healthcare, welfare, large governments, the list goes on and on.

I hear you. The only possible silver lining will come when extraneous programs are shut down, and we can point to the Range bill on the chopping block as evidence we aren’t playing favorites.

In this case it is taxes collected form the sales of guns and ammo and a few other things. I am OK with spending it on what it was collected for.

Personal ranges do not take note of attendance.

this sounds helpful since the Commie politicians have been coercing some practice ranges to close down
If we can get firearms safety and practice classes back into our high schools..... with competitive firearms sports and teams...
it will help TREMENDOUSLY!
the commies have closed down most of the high school firearms safety and training classes, and team sports. its rotten, absolutely rotten! we need to get these back for our kids!

Not sure I want a gov't range having direct access to those records. The one near me you just put $10 in an envelope and stick it in the slot. It's outdoors. I don't use it because I have a great spot in the forest that is closer.
