Gates is showing his ignorance in history and recent history at that. David Ben Gurion of Israel, Golda Meier, Dr. Konrad Adenauer of Germany, etc., the list can go on of leaders in their 70’s and 80’s who were capable of serving.

Gates is a never Trumper and Bushite so I will choose to ignore him.

You make excellent points!

I deal with people 65 and older on a daily basis. I’ve seen people who are active physically and mentally, in complete possesion of their faculties and able to be gainfully employed on up into their 80’s and 90’s.

On the other hand, I’ve encountered people much younger who seemed quite “old” with, frequently, negative mindsets.

I’ve also seen people who have had dementia starting in their 50’s and people of all ages who have had health events like strokes and heart attacks.

The important factor is the individual, not the age.

Baloney.

President Trump has more energy and vitality than many men half his age.

It doesn’t say much for the intelligence community that they took this moron after he couldn’t get to O-2 as a USAF officer, he rose through the ranks, and wound becoming the director of the entire agency. This guy had to have had a father or uncle or somebody in a very high place looking after him. I wouldn’t hire him to weed my garden.

Too bad he went that way AFTER destroying the Air Force.

True story, this guy is such a loser that when he was a USAF 2nd Lt. (O-1) in the mid-1960s, he couldn’t get promoted to 1st Lt. (O-2) in 3 year. It’s typically automatic after 18 months.

I just read your post.
Men like that never succeed and if they get ahead, it’s because of that old Peter Principle.

Glad he is out of the limelight.

I remember him from Bush I, Bush wanted him for something like CIA director and he could not confirmed. Then he comes back under Bush II as something like Secretary of Defense. He was a total Jackass and incompetent.

Here’s what the Air Force Association thinks of Gates. I don’t necessarily agree with all of their views but I do agree with them on Gates: http://www.airforcemag.com/MagazineArchive/Pages/2014/March%202014/0314gates.aspx
