In Vietnam I’m told we dropped millions of thumb sized hardened steel bomblets out the back of cargo planes.

On the ground it sounded like a rainstorm.

Charlie’s first clue there was a problem was when one went through is rice bowl, the second, his helmet...

I have one in my collection of WWII gear. Solid cast metal, 4 fins, ~3.5" long, max O.D. = 0.65" ...
