That might be one way. The other was that he got BLM land turned over for development and then his Mormon buddy who developed that land kicked back a per cent of each lot sold-to Harry Reed.

My wife grew up in Las Vegas. She tells me that it was “common knowledge” that Harry Reid had his legal education paid for by the Mormon Church ( Reid is a Convert) and that he got his early election “funds” from Joe Conforti, the then owner of the famous Mustang Ranch brothel that was located just east of Reno.
The funny side story about Conforti was that the Feds got him for tax evasion, took “ownership” of the Mustang Ranch, and attempted to run it. They went under within a year. So the takeaway is that the Fed Gov can’t even successfully run a whorehouse in Nevada!
